Our benefits package combines traditional programs for recognition and reward along with the flexibility that allows people to tailor their benefits to meet their individual needs and goals. Maintaining Your Edge

Medical Insurance

  • Optimal offers dual health-care plans to provide an option for employees to select the plan that best suits their needs. These options include a traditional UniCare plan with a choice of two benefit levels.

Dental Care

  • To encourage regular dental care, Optimal offers a thorough plan through UniCare that covers cleanings, fillings and comprehensive dental work, such as crowns, root canals, and orthodontia for children.

Vision Care

  • Benefits are available to you and your family through a network of providers and can include exams, contact lenses and glasses. Vision coverage is through Vision Services Provider (VSP).

Prescription Drug Care

  • Pharmacy coverage is provided by UniCare. They are contracted with thousands of pharmacies nationwide.

  • Prescription drug mail order service is provided as an alternative to retail pharmacies. This service provides convenient, secure deliveries to your home or elsewhere within the United States. Supplies of up to 90 days at a time can be ordered through the mail order service. Use of the mail order pharmacy helps you to reduce your annual out-of-pocket cost for co-pays, as the co-pay for a three month supply is only two times the regular co-pay for a one-month supply.

Work-Life Balance Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • Unum Provident’s work-life balance EAP can help you find solutions for many of life’s challenges. There is no charge for calling a consultant, using the website, or getting information from the program. For assistance, you may call 1-800-854-1446. Please note that this service is provided to Optimal employees at no charge. Participation is confidential and strictly voluntary.

 

Building Your Edge

Premium Only Plan (POP)

  • Enables you to pay your share of premiums for group insurance coverage with pre-tax dollars.

401K

  • Allows you to defer a portion of your salary, on a before tax basis. Eligibility starts immediately.
  • Optimal will match your contributions at a rate of 50% up to $6,000. If you put in $6,000, you will receive a maximum match of $3,000. Eligibility for the match begins after one year of employment in which you work a minimum of 1,000 hours.
  • Vesting is at a rate of 20% per anniversary year in which you work a minimum of 1,000 hours, beginning with your second year of employment.

Catch-up Contributions for your 401K Savings Plan

  • If you will be age 50 or older as of December 31st of the applicable calendar year, you can make additional before tax contributions to your savings plan account.

 

Protecting Your Edge

Short-Term Disability Insurance

  • STD provides benefit payments after 14 consecutive days of disability and then provides them through week 13 of your disability. The benefit pays 60% of your monthly income and is paid to you weekly.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

  • LTD provides benefit payments after 90 consecutive days of disability. The benefit pays up to 60% of your monthly income.

Life Insurance

  • The amount of life insurance coverage is based on your annual base compensation.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)

  • The amount of AD&D insurance coverage is based on your annual base compensation.

 

Renewing Your Edge

Paid Time Off

  • You are granted Vacation time off with pay. The number of days granted may vary based on tenure and position within the company.
  • You are also eligible for up to 6 days of sick time.
  • Optimal offers paid leave for bereavement * (up to 24 hours with manager’s approval) and jury duty ** (depending on service requirements).
    * State of sorrow over the death or departure of a loved one
    ** The civic duty to serve on a jury when requested by the government

All full-time employees receive eight official holidays per year.
