History in the Making at SAP TechEd 2011
By Rory Doherty, Editorial Director, Optimal SAP Advisor
During his keynote address at SAP TechEd last week in Las Vegas, SAP Executive Board Member and CTO Vishal Sikka referenced several historical events to help illustrate the profound impact HANA will have on the modern business enterprise.
Among his examples, Sikka cited Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press invented circa 1439 and Thomas Paine’s Common Sense pamphlet published in 1776.
His aim was to drive home the enormous transformative potential of HANA in the hands of a single individual, with Gutenberg’s printing press representing HANA and Paine’s pamphlet representing the result of an individual’s use of HANA.
