Paid Time Off Policy & Procedures

Paid time off may be granted to eligible employees, according to the following leave policies. Please consult your Human Resources Manager for further information.

                       In the interest of maintaining a healthy balance between work and home, Optimal Solutions offers our full-time employees vacation and sick time off from work.  Vacation and sick time are paid using your base salary, excluding bonuses and overtime compensation, if any.
Vacation time can allow you to rest, relax and pursue special interests.  Vacation time may also be used during an employee’s own illness, to care for an ill child or for medical, legal or other personal business appointment which can only be scheduled during business hours.  Optimal Solutions has provided vacation time as one of the many ways in which we show our appreciation to our employees, whom we value.
                       Vacation time must be scheduled, in advance, with your Manager.  Every effort will be made to grant your request.  However, vacation time cannot interfere with your department’s operation or project schedule and must be approved, in advance, by your Manager.  If a conflict occurs, vacation time will be given to the first employee who requests the time off.
If you are eligible for Paid Time Off or need to take Unpaid Leave, please review the following procedures if you need to take time away from work.

	* As soon as you become aware that you will need to be away from work, send a written request (email) to your Manager indicating the days that you would require away from work. You must receive written approval from your Manager prior to your time off.
	* Forward your written approval from your Manager to the Optimal Solutions HR Department so that we are aware that you will be away from work during this time.
	* Submit a time report indicating the days that you were away from work as one of the Paid Time Off categories: Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Jury Duty, Bereavement Leave, Vacation, Holiday or Unpaid Leave.
